Our aim at Savanna is to provide guidance and catalysts for children who arrive motivated to help themselves and others. Through working alone or together for the greater good, children can influence social change. To generate social change and impact social causes, children are provided access to a variety of materials and time to investigate, develop, implement, and create individual and group ideas.

Specialty Workshops

Our special workshops at Savanna are carefully planned to give children time and space to explore ideas that interest them. Savanna takes pride in helping young children develop curious minds and strong values.

STEAM

Children develop creative and critical thinking skills, observe and collect data, make hypotheses, and problem solve with materials in a child-centered approach.

Savanna kid’s eyes will light up larger than the experiments they create when they combine ingredients that produce amazing results encouraging them to try even more! Lab coats, safe lab stations, wacky materials, and surprising results inspire them to fall in love with science.

Sensorial

We believe it’s important to teach children early how to identify, organize and process sensorial information. This enables young minds to identify, refine and be present and aware of their surroundings. It also helps them understand and develop skills to creating order and hierarchy, which in turn helps them integrate into the world ahead of them more easily.

Music and Movement

Movement strengthens both the prefrontal cortex (which is involved in executive functioning) and the hippocampus (which plays a key role in memory and learning). In this way, exercise supports our ability to think creatively, make decisions, focus and retrieve key information.

Cooking

Once the chef hat and apron are in place, our little chefs will be amazed at the tasty treats they can create together. The process becomes more important than the results as ingredients are discovered and measured, your child will prepare tasty meals and snacks. Our cooking lab promotes learning through hands-on experiences. They will learn:

Numeracy concepts: measuring, counting, and volume
Sensory exploration with textures, colors, tastes and smell
Creativity & Encourages an adventurous palate!

Art

Our messy art lab is designed to ignite your child’s imaginative spirit and creative spark through opportunities to develop individual self-expression, creativity, exploration of materials such as wood, paint, clay, and all the squishy and gooey stuff kids love to get their hands on!

Language

In early childhood development a basic but solid understanding of writing, reading and oral expression helps young children develop self expression and effective communication.

Savanna Extra Curricular

Savanna’s curriculum add-on programs provide a specialized focus for building skills and discipline around specific subjects. They help develop your child’s ability to consistently engage with a subject matter that is a concentrated area of their choice.

Understanding how food is initially cultivated, and then made in the kitchen from start to finish, helps a child develop appreciation for the process as well as the final product. Our Little Cook program enables your child to have a hands on experience on both ends of the process that will make a lasting impact in their future to be self sufficient.

Sharing and giving back being one of the core tenets at Savanna, the Little Philanthropist program teaches kids to see the world beside themselves. The program encompasses implicit practices that are integrated in day to day interactions with those around them, as well as explicit means of sharing, giving and helping others.

Artistic and creative expressions are essential building blocks in your child’s development at Savanna. Our little artists program enables your child to understand how the basics of artistic and creative disciplines work and build on them to find ways to express themselves.

The Little Engineer program at Savanna provides your child with skills to observe the world and understand how things work, starting with the basics and leading to the more complex. The program provides the space and tools to tinker and process basic mechanics from the ground up but also knowledge to be able to deconstruct them back down to the basics.
